About Starfish Community

Welcome to one of the Starfish Community's on-line collaboration systems. The Starfish Community is an evolving group of individuals, associations, friends, co-workers and organizations that share a vision to make the world a better place. And Humanitarian International Services Group (HISG) models for Holistic Integrated Sustainable Transformation (HIST) and International Disaster Response (IDR) are central to the core values of Starfish Community activity. Even so, the Starfish Community is not owned or directed by any one organization or person.

Therefore, this on-line system is not intended be "the one and only" tool of the Starfish Community. Hopefully, the relationships and interaction enabled by this system will grow far beyond the limitations of any singular system.

Using The Tool: Like any other world-class tool, the Starfish Community Forum is designed to accomplish a specific goal; in this case, the forum is to facilitate a certain type of interaction. Hammers drive and pull nails, and shovels don't make very good hammers. When it comes to the forum, please use this system to share knowledge, expert opinions on each subject, point others to key resources and engage others in operationally relevant conversation. This system is intended to assist the practitioners; i.e. people doing the work on the ground. This tool is not a social networking tool, a place for monologues or blogs, and it is not for posting of videos, like YouTube.
