OM is currently partnering with Haiti Broilers (a subsidiary of Jamaica Broilers) to construct Broiler and Layer Houses for Orphanages, Churches, Schools and Small Farmers throughout Haiti. The per capita income in Haiti last year was $480. The cost of constructing a 10'x40' broiler house is @ $3500.

In this interview, Junior Bataille points out that the reason there are so many people in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, is because there is so little opportunity anywhere else in the country. He goes on to encourage NGOs invest resources in the entire country, and not just on rebuilding the capital

Below is a video link that is not particularly compelling video, and it's obviously US Government-centric. However, the "one month later" assessments continue and this might be of interest to some as it's not processed through the standard "big media" outlets.
