UPDATE - PAKISTAN FLOODING IS GETTING WORSE
The need for help is quickly increasing...
This is by far the worst natural disaster to ever affect Pakistan and it is far from over.
The intensity of the current flooding will NOT be fully reached nor peak until August 10-11.
As of now 14 million people have been directly impacted- 1.4 million have been fully displaced.
The number of impacted/displaced people may be expected to rise to 6 million by the end of the week!
Countrywide, 92 bridges have been destroyed, and more than 200 major roads have been damaged. There are four major dams at risk. Farm crops and livestock loss will affect long-term livelihood and food security. International organizations believe that up to 2.5 million people will require food assistance.
It is estimated that the entire country will be impacted before the full height of the flooding is reached.
This is going to be a BAD outcome no matter how you draw it out. The flooding and disaster impact is going to grow in size, intensity, and overall impact this coming week!
We must do everything possible to help during this disaster.
