It took more time than we had hoped, but we have finally pushed our new version of Starfishcommunity.net. Thank you to everyone who helped with their feedback and continued support on this project.

This site is no longer in Beta!

New features added in this release:

  • Profile tool is now functional and complete(mostly). We still have a few issues to work out but it functions more smoothly than before.
  • Ability to create/join organizations. You can now create your organization and tell the world about yourself through starfishcommunity. Once your members join your organization, you will have easy access to your member's posts/threads, among other things.
  • Customized Homepage is now live! On your homepage once you log in are various tabs to filter the threads you want to see. You can quickly view threads/posts/tags you have subscribed to, conversations you have starred, threads/posts members of your organization have taken part in, as well as the tabs that were there previously.
  • Search! On the top of your screen is a search box. Now you can easily find relevant topics in a snap. This feature has also been extended on the Organization and User pages to quickly find users/organizations you are looking for.

Logging in has changed. Now you will log in via your email address instead of the username you created before. If you forgot your password, no problem. Click the "forgot my password" link on the sign in form to reset your password via email verification. You can assign multiple email addresses to your account now, and you can log in with any of them.

We have taken great care to make sure everything here works, but our staff is small so some things may have fallen through the cracks. If you find something that doesn't work like you think it should, click the "report a problem" link at the bottom of every page and let us know about it.

Again thank your continued support on this project.
