Haiti Ports - Confirm Operational Status?
Port of Fort-Liberté Located on the north coast, this port is a safe docking. The swell never exceeds 1 meter. The dock has been dredged to a depth estimated to be approximately 1.80 m.
Port of Port-de-Paix The port of Port-de-Paix is a marginal and includes: an area of open storage and a basin dredged to a depth of 3 m. A storage area of 4050 m² has been built.
Port of Gonaives The port of Gonaives is a jetty mounted on piles and a concrete deck area used for storage. Vessels can use approximately 45 m platform on both sides of the pier. There are 1,600 m² of concrete deck area used for open storage and 11 bollards for mooring ships. The access channel to the port and the dock was dredged to a depth of 3.3 m. The open storage area covers an area of 900 sqm and is illuminated.
Port Anse-à-Rollers This port was built in a swampy area north-east of the island of La Gonave. The wharf, built in concrete and fitted with 9 bollards, covers an area of 540 m² and an open storage area of 900 m². The access channel is dredged to a depth of 4 m.
Port Petit-Goâve The original pier was built in 1927, with 39 m long and 19 m wide, an area of 741 m². It was later expanded by a length of 37 m long and 19 m wide. Vessels moored about 100 m from the shore and carry on barges loading and unloading of goods. The flat-bottomed barges can moor at the dock. A fire landing functional indicates the location of the platform location.
Port Miragoâne The dock is 35 m long and 12.05 m wide and consists of a reinforced concrete structure. The port receives a cabotage increased international and facilities have proved quite outdated. The depth of water is present 2m10.
Port of Jeremiah Wearing Jeremiah offers a marginal wharf with an access channel reduced to 2 m deep. The concrete wharf with an area of 850 m² is built on a rise of 1.70 m and has a berth of 122 m length. He has 12 bollards to 10 tons, 58 wooden fenders and about 8,000 sqm of open storage area and a shelter for passengers of 230 m².
Port of Jacmel The pier was built in two parts has a total area of 1.713 m² and 106 m berthing front of both sides. Because of prevailing winds and currents, only the eastern side of the pier is used with a draft approximately 5m.
Port of Saint Marc The Bay of St. Mark is with very deep along its coastline a sandbank about 0.5 km. Prevailing winds are winds from the west. The pier is 40 m wide and 87 m long with a deck of 30 cm thick. The bay of San Marco is open to the west and sudden squalls are common.
Port Reef The port has a quay 51mx10 m, a median of 73mx10 m, a pathway connecting the median to the existing track leading to the city of Coral. The access channel is dredged to a depth of 3.30 m and bitter days have been installed to facilitate access to the port.
Port of Anse d'Hainault By way of port infrastructure, there is this place a wharf whose deck measuring 51m long and 10m wide, a median covering 3750m2 (75mx50m) and a storage shed covering an area of 216m2 ( 12mx18m). The bitter day help in the navigation channel dredged to a depth of 3m30. An access road dirt that port connects to the main road leading to the town of Anse d'Hainault.
Port of La Saline This port is located at the terminus of the western extension of the Delmas Road. It includes a concrete wharf measuring 275.50 m long and 7.34 m wide, a median gravel retained by a dam and built on an area of 17.400m2; warehouse 72mx20m; shelter for passengers 30mx10m and a basin 30.000m2 dredged to a depth of 4m.
Port Carriès Originally designed as a recreation area built on behalf of an individual, these facilities were made available to the NPC by the Haitian government in 1997 following the sinking of the ship''PRIDE GONAIVIENNE'' occurred at the port of Montrouis. There is a dock constructed on piles with a deck of irregular geometric shape, generally oriented in an east-west and forming an approximate area of 560 square meters with a draft of 5.80m. A little north and in the direction perpendicular to the dock, is located a marina measuring approximately 228 m2 in area and around which the draft reaches 4.5m. The enclosure port Carriès this aspect of a complex comprising a complex of buildings of varying size and three (3) are used to house the administration staff.
Currently, Port of Jacmel looks like the best option for access to PAP... still trying to confirm operational status
