To maximize the 30,000 pounds of medical supplies that Americares will be moving into PAP by Saturday, we are looking for intel on:

1) Ground transportation/security at airport for moving relief supplies

2) Streets or areas to avoid that are impassable by truck

3) Where are functional clinics and hospitals (most important question)? Please be specific and provide contact info.

Something to consider - I know its not in PAP

We have a team that is working on the Dominican side at the govt. hospital “hospital regional Taiwan” 2 hrs from the border. The closest to the border that is still taking cases and has beds. We are in the middle of networking with organizations from the US deploying teams especially ortho and surgical teams as well as anesthesiologists as that is the need in this particular hospital. Housing has been provided for the team. Severe trauma cases and multiple amputations has been the main work at this time. 4 surgeons are serving this hospital at this time. We have posted our daily info on the project webpage. The most important thing is to have teams work together and info to be shared.

If I have a team of 13 made up of family practice drs, nurses and two NOLS trained people planning to fly into Santo Domingo on Monday. Does anyone have a contact with a hospital close to the border that we could be of assistance?

They are setting up a field hospital at a school in Port Au Prince.

• located at Nehemiah's Vision, a faith-based non profit in Port Au Prince

Quisqueya Christian School, on Delmas 75, near Petionville, has a med center set up and is networked well in country. The contact would be Els Vervolet at evervolet@quisqueya.org I know that they are asking for Physical and Occupational Therapists, as well as any and all supplies related to rehabilitating the seriously wounded - prosthetics, diagnostic equipment, crutches, slings, etc. They are also transporting people to different med facilities around PAP.
