Current Conditions
FLASH * FLASH * FLASH As of 0900 hrs, the Haitian embassy reports that most communications into the country are still down. However, preliminary reports are that Port-au-Prince has sustained extremely heavy damages. Most buildings have suffered damage with many collapsing. Death toll is unavailable but expected to be high. There are reports of individuals trapped under debris and rescue operations are by hand and moving very slowly.
The PAP International Airport is currently operational with no damage to the runway. Ground transportation is difficult due to blocked roadways. Telecommunication is via sat phone only at this time. Urgent need for medical personnel and supplies.
Accurate assessment of outlying areas has not been completed but all major cities did experience the quake and after shocks.
I will be enroute to PAP and/or CAP by Friday to continue assessment and provide reports. I may be contacted at (678) 372-1837 Wednesday and Thursday (1/13-1/14).

Great work, Henry-- looking forward to your field assessment reports. Please keep them coming!!
Hi Henry, Praying for your safety and fruitfulness. Thanks for going. We have a team going down over the weekend or Monday. How are you going? Do you have need of helpers in PAP? We may have 3-6 people, most have been there before and have various skills and certifications. We may send them to Santo Domingo to rent a van or two and bring over water and food to Citi Soleil. Do you know Astrel Vincent in Soleil? Have him call me at 704-517-2557 or you can call me to tell us he is ok. We heard he is but have not heard about his children and home.
